Jillian and I spent the day running some errands while our vehicles took turns getting some much needed maintenance.

Hit up Hy-Vee for some breakfast, as I remember that being oh so very good back in Pleasant Hill. It wasn’t bad, but not quite like how I remember it.

We visited the madre who is doing a little bit better, but still spending most of her time resting. She has been enjoying Jillian’s laptop so much that we did a little on-line shopping for her today :) Nothing purchased yet though as I need to cross reference their wifi cards with the Linux driver database. Hehe!

6 new tires, 2 oil changes, and 2 alignments later we made it back home to start on some yard work before the rains rolled in. Made it just in time, as showers started up shortly after the mower was put away.

After a sirloin dinner, its playoff hockey for me and a chick flick for Jillian :)

Some may know, but my mother went down almost two weeks ago with a slipped disc in her back. She’s been laid up since and we’re waiting on a surgical consult to see what her next steps will be.

Last weekend Jillian got the garden prepped for transplanting, and even got some carrots, radishes, beans, corn, and herbs planted. I can’t wait! The seedlings have become enormous beasts so we should have a slew of healthy plants to start the season.

Bryan is finally back on the mainland! Hit him up on Facebook if you haven’t already. He is scheduled to be back in town May 3rd – 10th, so start your water and bread regiment to prepare your liver boys and girls!

Every have one of those weekends that just flies by?

Friday we celebrated Amy’s birthday with a grill out at their place. The smell of the grill makes it seem like Spring is officially here! That night we also found out that Mom’s leg issues were being caused by a slipped disc in her lower back. We brought over Jillian’s laptop for her to use as she was (an is) limited to laying on the couch.

On Saturday we picked up Jimmy John’s for lunch and brought it to Mom’s. MmmmMmmMm I love me some Jimmy Johns! We then went to Menards to pick up some gardening and fence building material since the mammoth glacier we hosted in our back yard this winter crushed my previous construction. After some yard and house work, I went back to Mom’s to check on her and then stopped by Mike and Lori’s for another gathering. I had to work at 1am Sunday morning and finished up around 3am..

Up bright and early Sunday morning to get a deep clean on the house, as we were expecting guests for our Fantasy Baseball live draft. At noon the draft fired up and the rosters began to fill. I’m rather happy with my team, but the stats haven’t begun to total so time will tell. Installed the garden fence after I worked in a few bags of compost, and now I think the garden is ready for Jillian to begin transplanting.

I brought the FlipVid with us while we ventured around this weekend, and will have that video edited and posted this week. Yay for finally getting around to vlogging!

So tell me world, how was your weekend?

Oscar and Tito playing tug of war, and some updated seedling pics.

We started early this year, aka we actually did our research on what we wanted to plant, and the seedlings are looking good
